SOUMAR DAKDOUK

Soumar started her career in nature conservation with a specific focus on birds in 2004. Her conservation work included projects in the Arab region and globally. Realizing that global conservation efforts will be completely negated by the impacts of climate change, she did a career shift, and started campaigning on climate policy as part of the IndyACT team, end of 2007. Since then she has engaged in international climate negotiations, managed regional climate projects in the Arab world, and led the climate work in IndyACT in various capacities, including as climate campaigner, senior project manager, and executive director. Soumar has a Bachelor’s in Science Degree in environmental health from the American University of Beirut, and a Master’s Degree in Management, Access, and Conservation of Species in Trade: the International Framework from the University of Andalucía in Spain.
